Housing
Housing for the conference is at the Emory Conference Center. A block of rooms reserved for the conference will only be held until . Room reservation must be made before that date. The number to call for reservations is
1-800-933-6679 (or 404-712-6565). Callers should identify themselves as "Emory Women's Studies Conference" participants in order to receive the reduced rates. Room rates are $145 for a single; $72 per person for a double. Rooms must be reserved by September 11.

Grant funding from the Ford Foundation and Emory University is available to cover the cost of a double room for each participant. If participants prefer single rooms, they are responsible for the balance of the room cost.

1. You can obtain a list of all subscribers to our conference listserv. Send an email to listserv@lists.psu.edu No subject line is required. Do not include a signature. In the body of the text write only: review WSConference-l.

2. Send your name to me (sashields@psu.edu) by SEPTEMBER 5. On the 6th I will send out an email to our listserv with the names of folks who still seek roommates. Remember, you (or your rommate) need to reserve a room directly with the Emory conference center by September 11 at the latest.

Travel Subsidy
Travel subsidies are available for conference participants through grant funding from the Ford foundation. To receive funding, you must apply by September 15.
This is a reminder that requests for travel subsidy are due by September 15. As you know, we are not able to cover travel expenses fully, and so we urge all to request funds for travel from their institutions. If you cannot get institutional support, we may be able to provide some subsidy.

All participants must make (and pay in advance for) their own travel reservations. If you haven't yet purchased your plane ticket, now is an excellent time to do so--some terrific airfares are available. Reimbursement will be arranged after the Conference. You must save your receipt and both ticket coupons (proof that you actually were on the flight/train/bus) in order to be reimbursed.

If you want to request a subsidy, send an email to me (sashields@psu.edu) or Paula Jayne, our conference coordinator (pjayne@emory.edu). Please include the cost of your ticket and a very brief rationale for your request (a sentence or two is all that we need). The September 15 deadline is absolute. The planning committee hopes to make decisions and notify you by September 25.
