Gender and Politics
A Washington Semester Program

American University's Gender & Politics Washington Semester provides undergraduates the opportunity to spend a semester in the nation's capital. Students meet and work with nationally known policy makers, such as Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Newsweek's Eleanor Cliff, Democratic Whip Nancy Pelosi and RNC Co-Chair Ann Wagner. The core of our program is a combination of experiential learning based seminars, internships, and field research.

Women's Studies In Europe
Antioch College invites students who have completed two years of academic study to apply for its women's studies semester in Europe. Students will explore the trends and dynamics of the European social, economic, and political systems as they influence contemporary gender theory, policy, and conditions of women's lives. Each student has the opportunity to conduct original field research on an elected topic within the field. During their studies, students will stay at hostels, hotels, and homestays throughout Europe. Applications due March 30.

Explore Issues of Women, Gender, and Social Justice in Mexico and Central America
This unique opportunity offered by the Center for Global Education at Augsburg College brings students face-to-face with the peoples, cultures, and struggles for justice through direct interaction with local communities and their people. In conjunction with their classes, students learn from and interact with the leaders and the general population of the communities they stay in and even live with a local family for four to six weeks. Emphasis is placed upon how the issues of the community affect the lives of women. Deadlines are October 15 for spring programs and April 1 for fall programs.
