THEATER

"A Good Day to Pie," a one-woman show about the Biotic

Baking Brigade (a loosely organized group committed to

"throwing pies at power" and to "creaming" people they

consider culprits of social crime), here takes on issues

surrounding the genetic engineering of food, namely of

seeds, pesticides, and animals, and the public awareness of

such. While various members of the Brigade, as for example,

"The Cherry Pie Three," are now in jail for their act of

pastry-disobedience, this play features a fictional activist

whose major "beef" is with Monsanto and its terminator

technology. The play will be presented twice during the

conference. Both performances are on Wednesday, October 20,

with the first performance at 12:30 p.m. and the second at

8:30 p.m. Both performances will be held in the Simon

Center, Baldwin Gymnasium. Actress Rebecca Pridmore is a

student in Drew's Theological Seminary.
