Alumni Careers

Students who graduate from Drew with a Political Science major begin careers with prestigious, successful, and interesting organizations. Roughly ten percent of each year's graduates immediately enter law school. In the past five years, Drew Political Science majors have attended prestigious law programs at Harvard, Georgetown, Columbia, New York University, Boston College, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Rutgers.

As many as eighty percent of our political science graduates immediately enter the work force, although many eventually return to school for graduate or professional training. Recent positions initially taken include: Peace Corps Volunteer, Congressional Staff Member, Field Coordinator for a Presidential Campaign, Management Trainee with the U.S. Department of Energy, Communications Officer for the Governor of the State of New Jersey, Editor at Prentice Hall, Research Assistant at the Brookings Institution, Urban Planning Researcher for the City of Philadelphia, and Health Care Policy Researcher in Washington, D.C..

Another ten percent of our graduates enter some form of graduate school program. Recent graduates have entered Masters of Public Policy programs at Georgetown and Harvard. Others have gone on to such specialized programs as international affairs, urban planning, and criminal science at institutions such as Princeton, Cornell, and Rutgers. A modest number of graduates go on for the Ph.D. at institutions such as Princeton, Duke, Virginia, and Rutgers.
