Optics
and Lasers at Drew
The Physics Department
has an active student research program in lasers, optics, holography, and
image processing. With a recent National Science Foundation Instructional
Laboratory Improvement grant, the department is also developing new undergraduate
laboratory experiments in photonics and nonlinear optics. Many opportunities
exist for students to work in the lab, including multidisciplinary projects
involving chemistry and computer science. Projects span the range
from Independent Study courses, Honors theses, and paid summer internships
with the Drew Summer Science Institute. Faculty and students have
been supported in their work from NSF, Research Corporation, Council on
Undergraduate Research, and American Physical Society Division of Laser
Science. For more information, contact Dr.
David McGee .
