Fact Sheet
Academic Program
Drew University's European Semester offers you the tools and the
knowledge to explore the implications of change for Europe's distinct
economic, historic, political, social and cultural traditions. Those
traditions now confront each other across centuries-old barriers
and are in the process of defining a new concept of citizenship.
The European Semester's distinguished faculty
share their expertise in economic integration, history and political
science. Just as important, your colloquium course puts you in touch
with European leaders who offer you insights only insiders possess.
They challenge you to examine the positive aspects of European culture
and to critique the unsettling implications of the rush to Europe's
future.
A unique feature of the European Semester is
its intensive and segmented structure. You will spend about 10 weeks
in Brussels and an additional 1 - 2 weeks field study in another
country. The political science, European studies and economics courses
are completed during the Brussels portion of the program. The colloquium
and independent study courses run the entire semester.
Did you know that with
an additional course taken on campus,
European Semester participants could complete a
European Studies minor?
Interested students should visit the European
Studies web page for details.
Program Calendar
The European Semester is offered every fall semester, beginning
with an orientation program once you arrive in early September and
ending in early December. The program is 12 weeks long.

of major, with a minimum 2.7 grade point average. Students must
maintain good academic and disciplinary standing from the time of
application throughout participation. Students who plan to enroll
in the economics course must have completed Microeconomics.

home institution, you may still be eligible for a Drew scholarship.
Students must apply by April 15. Please contact the Office of International
and Off-Campus Programs for scholarship information.
Financial Aid
Drew students will maintain the financial
aid package to which they are normally entitled. Students should
contact their Financial Aid office regarding the use of federal
