Event

 

Any scheduled event in the Music Wing no matter what its purpose

Music Wing locations

 

Entire music wing in the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts including the concert hall and all ancillary rooms

 

Music Wing

The entire Music Department area of the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts. This includes the lobby, Hall, Backstage and all spaces in the Tower (classrooms, offices, studios, etc.)

 

Hall

The performance space in the Music Wing: stage, backstage, house and booth

 

House

Audience seating portion of the Hall

 

Booth

Control booth (authorized personnel only)

 

Stage

Performance platform in the Hall

 

Backstage

Transit area surrounding the back of the stage where all stage equipment is stored.

 

Public Areas

Lobby and restrooms

 

Performer Areas

Stage, backstage, green Room, assembly rooms, dressing rooms

 

Ticket Booth

The designated area off the lobby where ticket selling facilities are housed and executed.

 

Green Room

Special room for conductor and soloists just off the main entrance to the stage

Stage equipment

 

All University-owned items used during events such as music stands, risers, chairs, etc.

Instruments

 

Musical instruments owned by the University and available for rental.

Audio/Visual (A/V)

 

 

 

Voice amplification

Microphone and amplified speaker(s)

 

Audio recording

Recording either with permanently place archive mic in the ceiling or with specially place mics on the stage or apron (DAT only).

 

Video recording

Recording via the remote control camera mounted on the front of the booth (DVD only)

Set

Set the stage with all equipment

 

Strike

Remove all stage equipment to backstage storage

Personnel

Hall Manager

The University employee hired to be responsible for the Concert Hall

 

Event Manager

Usually the Hall Manager but can be a trained person designated by him/her. This person runs the booth and calls the show

 

Stage Manager

Person positioned at the main stage entrance who is in communication with the Event Manager and helps make sure performers are in position for entrances.
