Drew senior Katherine Fish was the featured speaker at the annual meeting of the Independent College Fund of New Jersey on October 8, at the Somerset Hills Hotel in Warren.

Fish is the recipient of a $3,000 science scholarship administered by the ICFNJ. The award recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in science. She is a chemistry major who has worked closely with Prof. Jim Miller conducting research for the New Jersey State Police Forensics Lab.

Miller, with Fish's help, is trying to find a fast and effective method for detecting the date rape drug GHB (Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate) for the State Police.

Fish is also active on the Drew Orientation Committee, and serves as a campus tour guide and a student government senator. In her home state of Vermont, she works as a backcountry caretaker for the popular hiking venue known as the Long Trail.
