Madison Businesses Offer Discounts to University Students

Madison merchants -- almost 60 of them -- are offering discounts to Drew students beginning immediately. The discounts vary depending on the business, but include several 20% discounts from Gerlach's Jewelers, Preferred Auto Services, Penny Press, Sammy's Gift Baskets, Solutions for Stress; and a 30% discount at Traditional Okinawan Martial Arts. FDU and St. Elizabeth students may also participate.

Students just have to show their college I.D. at stores displaying the blue "Students In Town" stickers on the door or front window. This discount program is a cooperative effort between the University Relations Committee of Madison's Downtown Development Commission and the Chamber of Commerce. Pat Harris, academic internships coordinator, is chair of the UR Committee.
