The Drew Difference

Photo: Political science professor Doug Simon talks with students. As you may be discovering in your college search, many schools look alike and sound very similar.  We believe Drew is truly different. Here's why.

Professors here have devoted their lives to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.  Most of them hold Ph.Ds and many have earned national and international reputations for scholarship.  At Drew, you will be taught by professors who care more about their students than their research.

Drew is just an hour from Manhattan -- the Big Apple -- which allows all students to benefit from academic programs that take advantage of the opportunities in New York, such as:

Moreover, there are multiple opportunities to travel into the city for personal enjoyment.  There's a train just ten minutes from campus.

Drew's  park-like, wooded campus is surrounded by one of the largest concentrations of corporate headquarters and research centers in the nation, providing unmatched opportunities for career discovery and development through internships arranged by Drew; most of them for academic credit, and many of them paid.

Drew offers several international experiences, including its International Seminars (DIS) program which gives students a chance to study a different culture in a program that combines classwork with international travel.  Drew pays all costs for travel, room and board. Students pay tuition only!

Drew is a residential college.  That means most of our students live in residence halls where they have a chance to learn from each other outside the classroom.  You will discover for yourself why we say our students are among the best in the nation, recently winning Rhodes, Fulbright, Goldwater, Truman, and National Science Foundation scholarships.

Don't worry if you haven't decided on a career, or even a major.  Drew will help you sort it all out.  By the time you graduate, you will have the knowledge and skills needed for life-long learning and success.

Drew is an inclusive community, where diversity and the individual student are important.
