Understanding Views in PowerPoint

Notes Page View

There are four distinct views in PowerPoint, each one having a different purpose. To access these views choose the View menu. The first four items in that menu are the different views.

 

 

Normal View

PowerPoint opens in Normal view. In this view you can:
  • Edit slides - Add titles, text, graphics, and slides.
  • Add new slides.
  • Delete slides.
  • Add speaker's notes to your slides.

 

Slide Sorter View

Slide sorter view enables you to:
  • View all of your slides as small thumbnails
  • Rearrange the order of the slides in your presentation
  • Easily create transitions between slides.
  • Easily rehearse and set the timings of slide timings in your presentation.

 

Slide Show View

Slide Show view allows you to run your presentation with all the features and effects you may have added.

 

Notes Page View

Notes Page view allows you to create and layout a set of notes for you to use during your presentation. These notes do not appear during the running of your presentation, but they are printable from the File>Print menu option.
