Printing an Outline

PowerPoint gives you the capability to not only print slides, but your speaker notes, handouts, or an outline.

 

Printing Slides

You can print slides as they appear one at a time on the screen.

  • With the presentation open, select File > Print.

  • If you wish to print specific slides; in the area labeled, Print Range, click on the radio button beside the appropriate choice ( All, Current Slide, or Slides).
 
  • If you selected Slides, enter the slide numbers and/or ranges.
 
  • In the area labeled, Print what, click on the down arrow and choose Slides.
 
  • Click OK.
 

 

Printing Speaker Notes

You can print a notes page for each slides refered to and the notes printed under the slide image.

  • With the presentation open, select File > Print.
 
  • If you wish to print specific slides; in the area labeled, Print Range, click on the radio button beside the appropriate choice ( All, Current Slide, or Slides).

  • If you selected Slides, enter the slide numbers and/or ranges.
 
  • In the area labeled, Print what, click on the down arrow and choose Notes.
 
  • Click OK.
 

 

Printing Handouts

If you are printing multiple consecutive slides rather than just one or two, you can print one, two, three, six, or nine slides per page.

  • With the presentation open, select File > Print.
  • If you wish to print specific slides; in the area labeled, Print Range, click on the radio button beside the appropriate choice ( All, Current Slide, or Slides).
  • If you selected Slides, enter the slide numbers and/or ranges.
  • In the area labeled, Print what, click on the down arrow and choose Handouts.
  • In the area labeled, Handouts, select how many slides per page you want as well as the order.

 

.Note: the only option that gives you the lines for taking notes is 3 slides per page.

  • Click OK
 

 

Printing an Outline

 

You can print an outline with formatting that is similar to the Outline pane.
  • With the presentation open, select File > Print.
  • In the area labeled, Print what, click on the down arrow and choose Outline View.
  • Click OK
