M.D. APPLICATION TIMELINE
( this chronology is slightly different for dental, osteopathic, veterinary, and optometry schools.)

December of Your Junior Year: Register in December to take MCAT in March, April, May, or register in February for June or July test dates. We do not recommend August testing except for retests.

January 31 (Junior Year): Complete and submit required documents to Drew University Health Professions advisor: questionnaire, resume, signed waiver form, academic integrity form.

February: Request letters of reference using Health Professions form, to be submitted to Drew's Premed Advisor by April 14. .

February - April: Interview with members of Drew Health Professions Committee.

~May 1: The M.D. application is made available for you to begin to fill out via web at www.aamc.org/students/amcas/start.htm

~ June 10 : The MD. application service starts accepting submitted applications. The earlier the better! As soon as you have an AMCAS number and application, provide copies to the Health Professions Advisor at Drew, at which time we will send in your Health Professions Committee Report and individual letters of recommendation. Do submit your applications as early as possible. Applications are still accepted into the fall but those candidates face steeper odds. Most schools have rolling admissions!

Summer: Start receiving secondary application forms from individual medical schools. Write more essays and send more money. Complete and send in your secondary applications as soon as possible after receiving them. The earlier they're received, the better!

September - March of Your Senior Year
Receive invitations to interview at medical schools (practice at interviewfeedback.com)....and receive offers of admission!
