The Eichenbaum Scholarship

Are you interested in studying abroad in Germany, either for the summer, a semester, or a full year? You should consider applying for the new Eichenbaum Scholarship! "Eichenbaum" is the German word for "oak tree," which is the national tree of both the United States and Germany. The "Eichenbaum" or oak tree is a shared symbol of strength and wisdom, and it can be found in Drew University's forest.

The Eichenbaum Scholarship, generously instituted by an alumnus of Drew University, provides financial assistance to undergraduate students who wish to study in Germany and who demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to students currently enrolled in German courses at Drew University. Applicants must have at least an overall average GPA of 2.5 at Drew and an average GPA of 2.67 (B-) in German Studies courses.

For study abroad during the academic year, there are two eligible programs on Drew University's approved list. These programs are in the German cities of Freiburg and Bonn (see below for links; the program in Berlin is not eligible). For study abroad during the summer, there are programs in cities throughout Germany at the various branches of the Goethe Institute.

Only German-language programs in Germany are eligible for the Eichenbaum Scholarship. The deadline for applying is Friday, March 19th. For the application, please click here. If you have questions or comments, please contact either Prof. Edye Lawler or Prof. Joshua Kavaloski.
