The study of foreign languages and literature provides a unique personal experience and a potential edge for future career development. In a global market researchers rely on primary sources published in other languages and often find themselves interacting across national, cultural, and linguistic borders. Government and industry often give preference to job applicants who are proficient in a foreign language.

The FL&L Programs at Drew University explore various social, political, literary, cultural, and linguistic topics in the following languages: French, Italian, Spanish, German, Chinese, Russian, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and Arabic.

Our proficiency-oriented approach is supported by instructional technology to provide opportunities for original language practice in context.
