  • Army Captain, Retired in 1959 after 23 years continuous service
  • Served on General George S. Patton's personal staff in North Africa and Sicily (1942-44)
  • Was a War Crimes Investigator with War Crimes Investigating Team 6832, Nuremberg, Germany (1945-6)
  • His photographs taken in 1945 were used as evidence in the war crimes trials
  • Participated in the liberation of the Flossenberg Concentration Camp
  • Participated in the apprehension of hundreds of identified and/or suspected war criminals
  • Assigned to serve as a member of the defense team for the trial of the Dachau War Criminals in 1945
  • Received numerous military awards and decorations from both U.S. and foreign governments
