Professional Biography

Sara Koepf received her B.A. from Drew University in 2001. The close knit group of friends she made here while at Drew kept her in New Jersey, and today finds her back on campus again. As part of the biology department faculty, Sara is currently responsible for teaching all sections of the first-year laboratories. While at Drew, Sara dabbled in courses in all areas ranging from Freshwater Ecology to Cell and Molecular Neurobiology. She also was a Women's Studies minor, and she enjoyed combining her areas of study in an internship with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in Summit , NJ . She worked in the Emergency Room at St. Barnabus hospital in West Orange , NJ , and gained first hand knowledge of what it's like to work 12 hour shifts. Sara has extensive teaching experience from her years in the classroom teaching AP Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Introductory Biology to high school students. Teaching is something Sara stumbled upon and today has become her passion. She enjoys both teaching and learning from her students. You can also find her at Seton Hall University this year working toward her Masters in Education.

Off campus, Sara loves living in Hoboken, NJ and jumping across the Hudson to NYC. She enjoys the city for its museums and restaurants and for being a place where she can walk rather than drive. When she gets a chance to escape the city, Sara loves to travel. Her most recent expeditions found her snorkeling in St. John and soaking up the Spanish culture in Madrid. On weekends, Sara is up for any outdoor activity: skiing, horseback riding, hiking, or biking. However, good movie, good book, or long snooze on a Sunday afternoon always sounds nice too!
