Safety at Drew.
In response to a number of incidents on campus, including most recently
that involving a member of the custodial staff, students at Drew have come
together to call for improved safety on campus. The following resolution
was passed by the Drew Chapter of AAUP at its regularly scheduled meeting
on March 22, 2000:
| The members of the Drew University Chapter of AAUP support the student statement calling for improved and appropriate campus lighting, a blue-light path, improved work safety for staff and further campus education around safety issues. The purpose of all of these changes is give students, faculty, and staff a better sense of security on campus. We recognize that no place can be totally safe, but we urge public safety and university administrators to take seriously the safety concerns raised by members of the community. |
